Description

AAEM (Acetoacetoxyethyl Methacrylate) is a methacrylic specialty monomer that holds significant value in the coatings, synthetic resins, and adhesive industries. Its active methyl and carbonyl functional groups enable it to react with amines and hydrazine, making it an ideal monomer for synthesizing self-crosslinking resins. The acetoacetyl groups pendant to a polymer chain increases chain separation and accessible volume, thereby reducing polymer solution viscosity and glass transition temperature.
